ANZAC day

ANZAC day is a day to commemorate the soldiers from New Zealand and Australia who fought in WWI and WWII. On Anzac day you remember the soldiers that died and this is also a time to  honour the returned service men and women. The 25 of April marks the anniversary of the landing of New Zealand and Australian soldiers on the Gallipoli Penninsula in 1915.

It is well known that after war the red poppies seemed to pop up in battlefields and around soldiers graves. It seems that the poppies lay stuck dormant in the soil and when the soil was heavily churned it caused them to sprout.
